There are many startups raising in 3D market, however not all of these become successful. In 2016, some 3D printer manufacturers announced bankruptcy. Cyprus-based Ilios is among these manufacturers.
Taking part in Indiegogo in 2012 and drew attention with SLA printer, Ilios closed its doors due to investment and funding deficiency. Getting into financial crisis, the company announced to be on sale.
“I can’t keep hoping for the best at the end of each month,” CEO Demetris Zavorotnitsienko states; “18 hour workdays, constant stress, and lack of any sort of funding has drove me to bare minimum at the workshop and in my personal life in general into Ilios, making sacrifices, and gradually what i built over the course of time.”

According to Zavorotnitsienko, those with outstanding orders from Ilios 3D will receive their SLA 3D printers in due time, and the company founder has even suggested that extra accessories and upgrades may be thrown in with the last few orders as he looks to clear inventory of the now-defunct 3D printing company.
Zavorotnitsienko is selling the entire business, including the mechanical designs for each printer, electronic designs for boards and printer control, software, source code and firmware. All current orders will still be delivered as promised, with additional accessories and upgrades as the business still has extra parts in stock.
