Supporting sportsmen for more than 100 years New Balance continues to use the advantages of technology in its designs. Company’s limited edition MS066 combines comfort and chic with additive manufacturing.
3D, which is also influential in fashion and design; is showing in production process of New Balance as well as brands like Under Armor, Nike and Adidas. Completing the higher tier of the Zante Generate model presented on the market in April this year, The New Balance MS066 model is getting ready to be shown off.
The company, which works with 3D Systems, a 3D printing solutions provider, entered the agenda of the 3D industry with Zante Generate, which had a limited production in April. This shoe’s midsole was produced in 3D and was offered to sale for 400 USD. Working on this model, aiming to increase the use of 3D, New Balance once again demonstrated its adoption of 3D technology with the new model MS066.

Produced in company’s design studio in Tokyo, MS066 has a pretty aesthetic look with no laces and no wraps. The shoe has a limited production and a 3D manufactured midsole like Zante; and will be sold at a boutique in New York for 349.95 USD.

Unlike Zante, MS006 has a specially designed honeycomb in its midsole. For this model, New Balance, which04 works with 3D Systems, uses the manufacturer’s DuraForm TPU plastics. The upper part of the MS066 uses a seamless layer on the top and the black details are noticeable.
Aiming to benefit most efficiently from new production techniques; the place of 3D for the new models of New Balance is a curiosity topic.
