Augmented reality technology, which is used in various applications in many sectors from design to medical, now supports the athletes. With Raptor augmented reality goggles developed for cyclists, Everysight puts the athlete one step ahead of their rivals.

Israel-based Everysight has developed an augmented reality goggle, where cyclists can see information about time and road during the race. For this product, which is currently on trial before launch, the company invites all relevant triathlonists and bikers to play a role in this process.

This augmented reality goggle called the Raptor transmits knowledge without preventing the driver’s vision and make them lose vehicle control. Thanks to the glasses that create a high-resolution transparent screen for the drivers, the athlete is able to obtain information such as time, navigation, speed, distance as well as pulse rate and tempo. Using the company’s patented Beam technology, the Raptor is a step forward from the other augmented reality eyes on the market, giving the athlete the lens reflex without giving eye problems or closing the angle of vision.

Everysight: Raptor was developed to maximize the comfort and performance of drivers

Everysight states that it is quite dangerous for the athlete to close the view of the road to get the necessary information while driving; they underlined that Raptor was developed to maximize the comfort and performance of the drivers. The company that puts the Beam technology in front of the user’s eye instead of informing them with an object placed in front of the screen; thus, they pointed out that the driver did not have to separate their eyes from the road.

Raptor’s control, which brings the driver’s comfort and safety to the fore; can be controlled by the handlebars or the sound. This control system, which features such as color adjustment and volume of the image can be adjusted; also provides map information. Raptor, which can be recorded after driving, thanks to the snapshot camera and video option; it allows the athlete to evaluate after race or training. In addition, Raptor’s external sensors provide data such as heart rate, pace, speed; Android and iOS supported mobile devices can then be shared on social media platforms.

You are invited to a Raptor test drive

For Raptor, which is currently in the testing process, the company invites all athletes to a test drive. It is stated that they will complete the development process with the details they will get from the feedback of real sports people; and will also give pre-order right to test participants.

Everysight CEO Asaf Ashkenazi mentioned that they have been working to provide bicyclists with a similar application to the helmet that jet pilots used during the last 10 years; he emphasized that they did not compromise on lightness and ease of use. Referring to the results of the actual usage experiences, Ashkenazi continued as follows; “By completing our improvements according to the feedback we will receive from the tests; We will turn the Raptor into a tool that maximizes eye performance and minimizes fatigue.”
