The winner of a very popular quiz show in China was a robot. The robot equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) became the topic of the day by defeating its competitors including a Harvard graduate.
The development of technology becomes so unstoppable that many applications used to unthinkable, are now very ordinary. Robots with automation systems, now make many operation field unnecessary and AI can compete with human brain. The most shocking example of this occured in a quize show in China. In the contest, AI robot suprised everybody by winning over the human competitors.
In a show broadcasted in China, a robot called ‘Wangzai’ developed by Sogou which is a Chinese search engine company, attracted interest by its brilliant performance. Answering the questions in milliseconds thanks to its analysing and fast conceiving performance, Wangzai is strongly applauded. Defeating its competitors including a Harvard graduate, Wangzai got the winning price and showed the fact that digital age in now today not the future.
Growing very rapidly such as IoT, AR, VR and cloud data, robotics and AI became the topic by showing how developed it is at the quiz show. AI on which more and more ledaing technology and manufacturing brands are investing and began development projects, is expected to erse mny job fileds in the next 10 years or even in a shorter time. And this process has already begun. Last month Japanese insurance firm expressed that it would replace 34 employees with AI robots. Aside from that the manufacturers of Apple’s iPhone and iPad, Foxconn decided to replace total 1 million workers with robots and shocked the whole manufacturing world.
Robotization Discussed in The White House
These updates were included in USA politics agenda last year. According to that on 24th of May 2016; the effect of robotization in employment was discussed in a White House meeting. In was foreseen that because of the automation came with Industry 4.0 9% of the job fileds would be given to robots instead of people in the meeting.
In a research made by Oxford University; it is expressed that 40% of the labour would be performed by robotic systems. Some work fields disappear with the new industrial age while some derives; but it is underlined that there is nothing to worry. Ryan Carlos Washington University Professor of Law who was among the attendees of White House meeting, said thusly; “Currently, AI is used in board games of automatic cars. But can it support to make human life safer and more efficient? Many deaths ocur in hospitals because of the misuse of AI every year. Unlike the machine humans have both will and intelligence.”
