Adding 3D manufacturers to its distribution portfolio then producing its own printer, Aurora expanded its yearly market share and revenue significantly.
Providing office automation and furniture distribution services, Aurora Group is very happy to get in 3D market. Entering to the market with important partnerships and printer models, the firm closed 2016 with profit. According to the statement Aurora 3D printing business grew 23%.
The company also reported consolidated revenues of NT$1.9 billion (roughly $37.8 million USD) for the month of January 2017. The amount marked a 10.01% decrease on the month, but an increase of 1.31% on year. Its 3D printing business, however, is reported to have grown almost 38% on year, judging by January sales revenues.
Starting to 3D services with distribution first, Aurora collaborated with 3D printing giant Stratasys to become China’s exclusive distributor of Stratasys Idea Series professional desktop 3D printers. Since then, the company has also launched its own desktop 3D printer models, including the Aurora F1, a material extrusion 3D printer with a build volume of 168mm x 168mm x 168mm; and the Aurora E1, with a larger build volume of 200 x 200 x 200 mm. The company also distributes MakerBot 3D printing systems, as well as the Renishaw AM 400 metal 3D printer.
Developed jointly with the state-run Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), F1 features 168 x 168 x 168mm build envelope, LCD control panel with Chinese menu, 0.1mm – 0.4mm print accuracy. The other printer of the company, E1 addresses to wider format prints with 200 x 200 x 200 mm print volume.
