Navigation and connected systems are the drivers’ assistant on the road, but that’s not enough for the fastest-growing technology. WayRay and Harman, who think so, are gearing up to offer a solution that will guide drivers through holographic imagery.
Augmented Reality (AR), which appears in many sectors such as all the new generation technologies, is likely to play an important role in the automotive industry as well. This technology, which will be used in the automotive industry for a safer and personalized driving experience; will challenge the work of combining Harman and WayRay’s expertise. The acquisition of Harman by Samsung in the past means that this initiative actually brings together not two but three technology leaders.
WayRay, a Harman and holographic AR image system developer, has joined forces for a new study, offering a more comfortable journey to the drivers with the connected technologies of the automotive industry. At the CES 2017 fair that took place during the past few weeks, the company aims to bring together its dual-car enjoyment with fully equipped AR technology.
In this work, WayRay developed the hologram optical elements that make possible the AR projection system; Harman’s automotive expertise will be integrated into cars. This imaging system, which is a traditional, more compact, lens-assisted projection technology, providing a high-resolution projection at full viewpoint. This system, which is expected to provide a great advantage in AR navigation and road information applications; will combine with Harman’s affiliated car systems to provide a high-level driving experience for the user.

Blend solutions that provide top-level comfort and safety while traveling with connected systems bring stylish design and functionality to life. This system, which the driver can only control with the fingers of the arm of the seat; makes the journey more enjoyable and interactive. Thanks to WayRay’s holographic projection system, this connected technology can now be reflected on the windshield of the car. On this count, the driver will experience the driving experience of the AR without leaving his eyes on the road.
Harman Connected Car President Phil Eyler said that this collaboration is a work done to provide drivers with a more seamless and integrated ride experience. Harman as a leader in such applications; automotive manufacturers, drivers and passengers will continue to undersign the advantageous innovations will continue to underline. WayRay Founder and CEO Vitaly Ponomarev pointed out that the holographic display system offers safer AR experience to car drivers; summarized the advantages of innovation that they will realize; “With the images provided; the driver will have detailed information about what’s going on in the car and on the road; even if it’s not on the road.”
