Japan’s leading industrial manufacturing machinery developer, Matsuura continues its product development projects. Presenting the latest version of hybrid LUMEX Avance series; Avance-60, the firm will draw interest not only in Asian but also in European market.

The Matsuura LUMEX Avance-60 is an hybrid industrial 3D printer made by Matsuura, a Japan based manufacturer. The Matsuura LUMEX Avance-60 was introduced during the 27th Design Engineering and Manufacturing Solutions Expo in Tokyo, June 2016.

The Matsuura LUMEX Avance-60 combines the flexibility of the 3D laser sintering 3D printing technique with the precision of conventional milling for the additive manufacturing of finished quality parts with maximum precision. This hybrid 3D printer CNC machine uses a 1000 W Yb fiber laser .It can store up to 20 tools. The Matsuura LUMEX Avance-60 can build parts in 3D at a speed of 36 cubic centimeters per hour in its standard mode. Maximum weight of parts is 1300 kg.

Recent growing commercial interest from aerospace and automobile industries in LUMEX for a machine capable of creating larger, high value-added parts has led to Matsuura developing the LUMEX Avance-60, which can process a part sizes up to a maximum of 600 mm x 600 mm x 500 mm. This new model, with a larger maximum part size, will take Matsuura’s hybrid 3D metal printing and milling technology into new markets. The LUMEX Avance-60 is equipped with a high power 1kW fibre laser to shorten sintering time. In addition, the speed of powder distribution to the table top surface has been increased. In combination this means that maximum build speed has been increased to 35 cc/h. The system is also equipped with a fully integrated automatic powder supply, collection and reuse system. Metal powder materials can be supplied automatically to the sintering chamber without operator contact. On completion of processing, unused powder is automatically collected and sieved ready for reuse.
