The World’s Smallest 3DRobot Xpider Fascinates Everybody

Thanks to developing digital and robotics technology, robots are no longer just in the movies. Used in many industries, robotic arms and automation devices offer advantages. One of the upgrades of this technology came from Beijing, China. The robot spider Xpider attracted viewers’ interest.

It is foreseen that robotics and digital technologies will open new industrial age’s doors as well as 3D technology. Influencing many areas from labor force to market equilibrium, one of the most important segments of this revolution is surely robotics. The newest member of this technology is Xpider following many successful projects held last year. Made up of six members Roboeve team has successfully created a tiny spider robot which measures 85mm in height and weighs only 150 grams, is even touted by the company as being the smallest programmable spider robot in the world.

Xpider’s main feature is its integrated camera eye, which was inspired by Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc., and which is powered by an Intel Edison board and Curie. The robot, which can be moved around and controlled using either a smartphone or a game controller, offers its user a unique perspective on the world, especially because of its small size. Additionally, the robot can transmit its own captured perspective to your phone screen for easy viewing.
