Wolfprint, a manufacturer of 3D scanning solutions, has received significant support from the Seedinvest mass fund platform with their compact but high quality Luna scanners that will expand the scanning technology’s reach.

3D scanning is now available through personal scanners, scanning studios or open access platforms. However, Wolfprint, which aims to bring 3D scanning technology at an affordable cost to all places including public places, has taken a very innovative initiative. The manufacturer of scanner stands called Luna has attracted the attention of several technology segments.

Luna, a white stand that resembles a hut, carries 3D scanning technology to public places; such as shopping malls, airports and provides a highly innovative service. In this way, the company aims to deliver 3D scanning facilities to every user; and has managed to provide 500,000 USD in financial support from the mass funding platform Seedinvest. Stating that they will carry 3D scanning studios everywhere with Luna, Wolfprint’s Chief Technology Officer and Founding Partner Rainer Selvert mentioned that 3D scanning is currently expensive and requires a minimum of 400 USD for a quality scanning service. Selvert stated that the process of creating a model after scanning increased the time and cost, and added that the Luna scanning stand significantly reduced the screening and subsequent process.

This innovation is expected to come into play in the Virtual Reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) market; which is expected to reach 120 million USD by 2020. By setting up a global scanning network, Luna has been installed 4 times so far; not only in public areas but also in the digital gaming industry, which allows users to create their own avatars. Wolfprint, in this context, signed with a leading photo booth company in the United States; and announced partnership with leading names in different areas, such as Paramount and Nike.

The company; which advocates that 3D scanning and VR technologies will become a part of everyday life; said that they brought the opportunities offered by these technologies together on a social and shared platform.
